MiningMart can help to reduce this time. The MiningMart project aims at new techniques that give decision-makers direct access to information stored in databases, data warehouses, and knowledge bases.
The main goal is to support users in making intelligent choices by offering following objectives: Operators for preprocessing with direct database access; Use of machine learning for the preprocessing; Detailed documentation of successful cases; High quality discovery results; Scalability to very large databases and Techniques that automatically select or change representations. MiningMart’s basic idea is to store best practice cases of preprocessing chains that where developed by experienced users.
The data is described on the meta level and is presented in application terms. MiningMart users choose a case and apply the corresponding transformation and learning chain to their application.The project has developed new techniques that support user-guided representation adjustment as well as techniques that automatically select or change representations:
MiningMart has developed an operational meta-language for describing data and operators; MiningMart has prepared the first cases of KDD and that MiningMart presents the case-base in the WWW.
MiningMart processes data from relational databases. Therefore users need to have a relational database management system installed. MiningMart currently supports PostgreSQL (version 7.2 or higher), MySql (version 5.0 or higher), and Oracle (version 8.1.6 or higher). Further, unless users use the Windows executable below, users must have JAVA installed;
MiningMart was tested using Java versions 1.4.2 and 1.5. The MiningMart System was successfully applied in two telecommunications companies, the National Institute of Telecommunications in Warsaw, Poland, and the Telecom Italia Lab in Alessandria, Italy.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION MiningMart is basically data mining software which aims at new techniques that give decision-makers direct access to information stored in databases, data warehouses, and knowledge bases. MiningMart architecture allows data to described on the meta-level and be presented in application terms. MiningMart users choose a case and apply the corresponding transformation and learning chain to their application. MiningMat team of developers has developed new techniques that support user-guided representation adjustment as well as techniques that automatically select or change representations. MiningMart On-line Analytical Processing (OLAP) offers interactive data analysis by aggregating data and counting the frequencies. This is important when looking to know the attributes of your most frequent customers, investigating your frequently sold products, or searching for more detailed information like how many sales you need to make before items are depleted so you can optimize your stock levels. MiningMart also features Knowledge Discovery in Databases, also called KDD, which refers to the broad process of finding knowledge in data, and emphasizes the advanced application of particular data mining methods. KDD can be considered a high-level query language for relational databases that aim at generating sensible reports such that a company may enhance its performance. KDD enables analysts to model virtually any customer activity and to find previously hidden patterns relevant to current business problems, or business evolution and growth.
