The Harvard University’s Full-Time MBA program utilizes case-method studies, field-based learning, and international Immersions to impart the leadership skills you need to practice in business and beyond. The Harvard Business School (HBS) makes use of the case and field learning methods to provide a cycle of learning that involves learning by thinking, doing, and reflecting. The program transforms students both personally and professionally, and prepares them to excel in any management role. This program features a diverse community of colleagues and faculty who hold different talents, beliefs, and professional backgrounds. This Harvard MBA curriculum offers exciting courses and is often updated with new content so as to give students a concrete grasp of broad-based business fundamentals. The school’s inductive learning model goes beyond facts and theories and teaches individuals not only how to manage organizations, but also how to continually advance in life. During the first year at HBS, students pursue a common curriculum that helps them build a solid, broad foundation of general management concepts and skills across all key business-related disciplines including finance, marketing, leadership, negotiation, operations, strategy, and more. Students also participate in a variety of personal leadership activities and small team projects which help them practice teamwork and appreciate diversity as they prepare for Global Immersion programs. Students also acquire analytical and quantitative skills, and become acclimated to MBA Program standards of communication and collaboration. In the second year, students choose from a broad range of elective courses to build on basic concepts developed in the required curriculum. The elective curriculum help students develop an in-depth understanding of the firm as a total enterprise while integrating the functional skills learned in the first year. Students also get a chance to participate in the Field Immersion Experiences for Leadership Development (FIELD), a year-long, two-part course, which gives students meaningful leadership skills and numerous opportunities to work with partner organizations around the world to translate their ideas into practice.
