It is provided by Aptean and licensed under the Gnu General Public License (GPL) Version 2.0 and has an enterprise edition under a commercial license. Compiere solution has been modeled to be easy to acquire, easy to implement, and Easy to adapt and customize. Compiere’s innovative design allows you to easily extend its core functionality to fit your specific needs avoiding expensive and tedious upgrades. Its Automated Upgrade Technology enables seamless migration to new software versions while preserving all Dictionary-based customizations.

Compiere’s revolutionary design enables customers to customize the solution to fit their business requirements with no or minimal programming. Changes are easily made using modern ‘drag and drop’ Visual Dictionary Editor. You can deploy Compiere solution at your own data center or adopt a cloud-based deployment using Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), a secure and scalable virtual computing environment.

One can access Compiere’s applications and data using the Compiere client-server architecture compatible with most desktop operating systems like Windows, Linux, and Mac OS. Compiere offers two versions, standard and enterprise editions, each with core ERP and CRM functionality. The Enterprise version has additional capabilities to meet the need s of large companies with huge business and/or multinational operations.

Compiere’s integration with other applications is effected using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). It facilitates a highly-interactive, web-based user experience while providing secure access from any web browser. The Compiere web architecture delivers functionality, usability, responsiveness and personalization capabilities rarely found in browser based applications. Compiere is indeed changing the way businesses and organizations access and use enterprise software capabilities.
