RISE is a software suite for model driven information system development. It's packed with features and functions needed to build users, information model and turn it into a complete system solution. Customers can use a single source RISE model to generate their entire information solution including database, web services and documentation. RISE supports graphic editing of complex objects such as views and orchestrated methods.RISE automatically safeguards the combination process, thus, assuring a technically correct result. It allows the user to build high-level, business methods using drag-and-drop orchestration of existing, lower level, methods. RISE provides a similar tool for easy, error free, creation of views.
Composed method returns a user selected set of return values from the methods that are called as part of the composition. If any of the selected return values originate from a list method the return of the composed method is a list otherwise the return is a scalar data set like that of a get method.
The method requires the input arguments needed to provide all participating methods with the arguments they require. Thus, unless a participating method retrieves its input from the output of other participating methods it must retrieve it from the input argument list of the composed method. RISE provides a method sterotype called Custom for implementing users own server-side functionality. A custom method can be used to execute any code users see fit. For instance, it could be used to run a custom written stored procedure or call another system or a non-RISE information model. Users need to manually write their custom method code, package it in a class and tell RISE how to invoke that class. When an interface in a RISE model contains a custom method the selected RISE code generator will generate code for invoking the custom method implementation.
