Town Sports International (TSI) operates fitness clubs in major United States metropolitan areas, including New York, Boston, Washington DC, and Philadelphia.

Town Sports International business strategy relies on cost-effective operational efficiency, due in part to investments in prime real estate for club locations. Town Sports International, turned to technology as a key strategic tool, upgrading its infrastructure with modern business applications from Oracle that are hosted on Oracle Database Appliance. By pairing Oracle E-Business Suite with the simple appliance based architecture benefits of Oracle Database Appliance, the company achieves real-time visibility into its financials with the benefit of clustered redundancy, increased performance and full stack deployment in a single appliance.

Town Sports International needed a high-availability, high-performance platform to host its updated Oracle E-Business Suite applications, but wanted to avoid the complex and lengthy deployment timelines typically associated with integrating servers, networks, and storage from multiple vendors, as well as the costs and data center space requirements associated with such projects.

With the help of Cintra Software and Services, Inc., TSI selected Cintra’s recommended architecture based on two Oracle Database Appliances with the virtualized platform, one for test and one for production, as the platform for its deployment of Oracle Database with Real Application Clusters, Oracle VM and Oracle E-Business Suite. TSI’s Oracle Database Appliances are optimized to speed performance for Oracle E-Business Suite applications, delivering real-time intelligence into the company’s financials and inventory.
