The Lewis University’s Master of Science in Project Management degree is a specialized program designed to provide professionals with skills in management, communication, and leadership, so they can manage complex projects and teams in achieving strategic organizational goals. The program’s curriculum focuses on strategies for maximizing and coordinating human and operational resources, budgeting, scheduling, and scope management. To earn the Master of Science in Project Management degree, students must complete the program’s 36 graduate credits. This includes 11 courses and 3 professional seminars, which are offered in five 8-week sessions per year (2 sessions in the fall semester, 2 sessions in the spring semester and 1 session in the summer). Classes meet evenings once a week from 6pm to 10pm, which is highly convenient for working professionals. Furthermore, the program’s rolling admission allows you to enroll for the program at any time. A total of 30 hours must be taken at Lewis University. In addition, only 6 hours of previous applicable graduate coursework (grade of B or higher) can be transferred into the program. In order to graduate, students are required to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

All courses and seminars are approved as Professional Development Units for the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. This qualifies students to take the PMP Exam, a highly regarded credential awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI), the world's leading association for the project management profession. Graduates of the Master of Science in Project Management program are expected to be prepared to: complete projects under or within budget; deliver projects on or ahead of schedule; effectively organize project resources and maximize human resource potential; control project deliverables; and avoid common project management mistakes. They will also be prepared to plan and execute diverse projects within a wide variety of corporations and industries.
