The master’s in IT Project Management degree is offered 100% online, which allows you to study the program at your own pace, from anywhere in the world. This means you can choose times for class work and study that fit your lifestyle. The program also features material included in the Body of Knowledge developed by the Project Management Institute (PMI®) —including requirements discovery and management, schedule development and management, portfolio management, and management of outsourced resources.
The program is offered in a rolling format, enabling you to start the program in either fall or spring. You will work with your academic advisor to establish your individual plan of study. You can complete the required 34 credit hours, or 30 if you’re already PMP certified, in as few as 11 months. During the course of your study, Purdue professors will be available online or by phone, ready to assist you. Courses in the Master’s in IT Project Management program are offered in an eight-week format for greater flexibility. The program’s coursework will help you understand the application of a project management framework, and also teach you the skills needed to initiate, plan, execute, control and successfully close projects. You will also learn how to use PM tools effectively in managing projects. The coursework also covers such topics as project estimating, scheduling & control, where you’ll learn how to effectively use sound estimating strategies, perform cost management and develop project schedules using advanced project management techniques. The program’s courses also prepare you for the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification exam and also help you understand PMI's PMBOK guidelines.
