The Brigham Young University (BYU), Marriott School’s 2-year MBA program provides a comprehensive management education that prepares students for professional managerial and leadership positions in an ever-changing business world. This programs curriculum exposes students to the underlying disciplines and then reinforces those principles with practical field study projects. Sense of personal responsibility runs deep within the student community; they not only collaborate and learn from together, but also contribute and mentor others in the MBA community. Marriot offers rigorous, relevant, and real world classes that teach students firsthand, how and why teams and companies succeed. This will make you a desirable prospect to companies looking for leaders who collaborate with others, prioritize to get things done, and persevere under pressure. The BYU Marriott MBA faculty combination of high quality research, real world experience, and intense commitment to student’s success gives BYU Marriot MBA program its distinctive intellectual vitality. The required courses in the first year provide vital tools, concepts, and techniques for analysis in the basic functional areas of business. Instruction in the management core enables students to apply the tools learned in one course to the solution of problems faced in another. Often a discussion will be led by faculty members from several functional areas, providing an environment that encourages students to analyze issues from multiple perspectives. Following the end of the first year, students are encouraged to attend a summer internship to further enhance their professional interests. The largest part of second year consists of electives that fulfill major requirements in one of the five majors; Entrepreneurship, Finance, Global Supply Chain Management, Marketing, and Strategic Human Resources. Students supplement major classes with additional courses to help them acquire more general management education or to obtain a minor or certificate.
