Aras PLM provides capabilities such as documents, parts, bills of material, change, configuration management, projects, component engineering, quality, systems engineering, requirements, technical publications, ALM integration and PDM integration. Aras extensive out-of-the-box functionality and modern web-based, cloud-ready architecture enables users to deploy quickly and continuously enhance the user’s PLM environment in a fraction of the time required by conventional enterprise PLM / PDM systems and at a total cost of ownership far below that of any leading competitor.
Aras PLM solution is available free of charge where users can download it, install it and use it to run the user’s business without ever paying a cent. Instead, Aras offers pay-as-you-go training and consulting or an annual subscription that even includes upgrades and upgrade services for all major and minor releases of Aras Innovator, including customizations. Aras has a dedicated Community Development team to help guide users through the user’s PLM journey, whether it’s a first roll out or an ongoing implementation.
The team can answer user’s questions, offer recommendations, connect users with resources and help users get PLM implementation off the ground successfully. Aras PLM is an n-tier, model-based service oriented architecture (SOA) built entirely on open web standards composed of web clients, application servers(s), database(s) and file vaulting servers(s) based on standard Internet protocols including HTTP/HTTPS, XML and SOAP.
