The Executive MBA offered by Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business is program that emphasizes on the development of individual leadership, strategy and decision making skills. You will develop these pillars of executive success from a strong foundation of core knowledge in the functional areas of business which are capped with deep immersion into leading the global firm. The Rice executive MBA is designed for experienced professionals and incorporates a lot of experiential, integrated learning. This program takes 22 months to complete and one is required to undertake four week-long executive forums as well as a mandatory international forum. The program is taught by a dedicated, nationally recognized team of professors who maintain an important balance between teaching and research while integrating insights from their own rigorous, peer-reviewed research. Being a weekend-residency program, classes meet on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Throughout the program, students have access to an experienced career advisor from the Career Development office (CDO) who assists with business correspondence, mock interviews, job search strategies and other career –related needs.

Each academic year starts and ends with a 5 day intensive executive forum targeting the development of an executive mindset. It is followed by Executive Seminars that provide a channel for integrating concepts across the disciplines as well as executive skills development such as negotiations, communications, team dynamics, executive coaching and career coaching. These seminars are conducted by an executive speaker who provides first-hand insights from a wide spectrum of business leaders. The program’s core curriculum focuses on providing you with analytical skills necessary for robust critical decision making and with depth of functional knowledge necessary to lead across the organization. In the third semester of the program, you are able to customize your MBA program by choosing from a set of electives that deepen your general management expertise or tilt the program towards advanced courses in specific areas. The Global Core in the final semester focuses on creating awareness and mindset to effectively lead in global financial, resource, and consumer markets.
