The Executive MBA offered at Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management focuses on the educational needs of high-potential, talented managers and managers-to-be. The program features a top faculty and speakers renowned for their expertise and is consistently ranked among the top programs in the world. It draws students from all continents providing students with an opportunity to learn from and with each other. Classes are compressed within six residencies of one or two weeks each. The program starts in September with 4-5 days orientation forum at Purdue. The program’s curriculum is distributed across six modules that provide unique blend of in-class and online learning. Modules consist of a preparation period, a 1 to 2-week on campus residency, and an online exam period. Each residency is prefaced by an 8 to 10-week preparation period during which students are assigned texts, and also complete and submit individual and team-based assignments. The quarterly on-campus residencies include classes, company visits, guest speakers, career management offerings, and networking events. The first five residencies are at Purdue University while the sixth is held at an international location selected by a particular cohort. The first two course modules focus on core topics taken as cohorts. The rest of the modules enable students to personalize their curriculum to meet their individual needs through three types of courses: functional electives, immersion electives, and an Active Learning Project. Functional Electives are courses that vary depending on the interests and needs of the student and students choose the courses that align with their career aspirations. Immersion electives are workshop-style courses that split the cohort into groups of 6-15 students based on their interests. Active Learning Projects provide opportunities for students to combine prior knowledge and knowledge learned in the classroom in helping a firm diagnose and resolve critical business problems.
