The Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business Weekend Executive MBA program helps you achieve new goals without any career disruption by combining a short monthly residency with longer distance periods. Admission to the program is highly selective and based on your comprehensive experience—work, personal, leadership, and beyond—and how your ambitions and values align with those of the school. The program’s learning platform and flipped classroom model help you balance coursework with other commitments to maximize your face-to-face class time. You’ll team up with four or five professionals from a wide range of backgrounds, and who you’ll work closely with throughout the rest of the program. Just like all other Fuqua degree programs, it is taught by a world-renowned faculty; scholars recognized for their excellence in both teaching and research, and who are policy advisors and thought leaders in every business discipline. The program incorporates a mix of instructional methods for each course, which may include case discussions, simulations, lectures, and experiences. Class starts in May with a 1-week orientation immersion on Fuqua’s campus in Durham, North Carolina, where you meet classmates to learn about Duke and each other. For the rest of the program, you’ll typically have one 3-day residency a month, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The program features a general management curriculum where you’ll take on a core that spans all the functional areas of business; more than 20 electives, five concentrations, and a certificate option to choose from, as well as an opportunity to internationalize your degree with a Global Academic Travel Experience. During residencies, you’ll work with your team, participate in career resource sessions, meet with your leadership coach, attend guest speaker events and engage with alumni panels. Outside the classroom, speaker events and workshops give you an insider view across a range of industries and expand your understanding of the academic material.
