Lucida is a speech, natural language and vision based software that acts as an open source intelligent personal assistant. Lucida Is ideal compared to other intelligent personal assistants as it is able to provide image matching, question and question answering services and natural language processing. Lucida simply consumes tasks and queries fed to it in form of image or speech by the user then it answers using natural language form. This is similar as assigning task to a human assistant. In a technical way, Lucida comes as a package of three self-contained and separate components. Lucida’s components include; the automatic speech recognition component, the image matching component and the question answering system. All these components are essential to make it an ideal intelligent personal assistant. Also all the three components each has its own functions and uses. The first is the automatic speech recognition component. It is abbreviated as ASR. The automatic speech recognition consists of the deep neural network scoring that is backed up the signal processing deep neural network. All these sub-components of the automatic speech recognition, enables Lucida support several speech recognition tools and also provide users with solutions using a natural language. The second component is the image matching component that enables Lucida assess, comprehend an image and give back a feedback to the user in cases where the image is not known by the user. The third component in Lucida is the question answering system. This system first is backed up by the natural language processing tools. This enables Lucida to receive questions from the user and provide instant answers in a more precise way compared to a human agent.
