Ignite’s ObjectStor is an object-oriented database management system for applications that demand reliable, transactional, object persistence and real-time data caching. It is the leading in-memory database for applications that demand high-performance, extreme scalability and real time responsiveness. Ignite’s ObjectStore automates the exchange of data seamlessly between incompatible systems. Organizations around the world rely on it for data integration initiatives ranging from data migrations and synchronization to data services. And there’s no need to wait around – the decentralized architecture processes in a fraction of the time it takes for similarly sized transformations. Cache Forward Architecture maintains data in-memory across all instances, ensuring data consistency and making real-time and transaction data instantly available. Improve both data reads and writes, including fully ACID transaction semantics and multi-instance concurrency control. Achieve high-performance without over-simplifying your data models or compromising transactional integrity. Provide optimal data structure for app performance without compromising durability and availability. ObjectStore is innovative in its use of the C++ language to make database access transparent. Objects can be created in a database by overloading the operator new(). In this way, one can store C++objects directly in the database and these persistent objects look and behave just like normal C++objects. By making use of signals, ObjectStore traps pointer exceptions and transparently brings objects in from the database. In addition, by use of a technique called swizzling, the database can be accessed from different platforms, with pages being 'swizzled' as they are brought into memory on page faults to correct big endian versus little endian platform issues as well as virtual platform table layout. The ObjectStore product is used in many fields, including telecommunications, financial services, travel, GIS, and the government.
