LAN access infrastructure comprises vendors supplying wired networking software and hardware, which enables various devices to connect easily to the enterprise LAN network. Examples of devices that are enabled for easy connection include smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other smart mobile devices. Networked office equipment, sensors, as well as other internet of things (IoT) endpoints, and other mobile or fixed devices that are regularly communicating with the switch port at the edge of the infrastructure are also included. However, it does not cover public venues such as industrial and commercial settings, point-to-point solutions, and small homes/offices.
