Hadoop Analytic Platform is an open-source software framework that can be used for data storing and running applications group of commodity hardware. It support colossal data storage of any kind, immense processing power and it has the ability to handle nearly unlimited amount of task or jobs simultaneously. Hadoop Analytic Platform is made up of two components namely, Hadoop MapReduce which is used for parallel data processing and the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) for low-cost, reliable data storage. Hadoop implementation of MapReduce is used to refine unstructured and semi –structured data formats and thereby making it possible for it to be analysed or loaded into other analytic platform. MapReduce supports distributed processing of the common map and reduction operation by dividing a query into smaller problem which is distributed to a set of map. It does not structure ingested files before storing them, thus providing a scalable data landing and staging area for huge volumes of machine-generated data. Hadoop analytic platform can detect and classify shapes from media files and carry out face recognition. Hadoop analytic platform makes it possible to extract and classify data that is accompanied by meta-data that are formatted and they can be treated separately.
