Marquette University, MS In Human Resources

The Marquette University’s Master of Science in Human Resources degree program prepares both new and seasoned business leaders in a way they can leverage human resources to achieve organizational success. The program gives students the technical and leadership competencies needed to put plans into action, and to effectively motivate, initiate, and affect change in local and international organizations. The program’s core curriculum equips graduates with the capability to align people with organizational strategy as well as create links between people processes and business success. This program enables students to develop skills and knowledge in such areas as compensation and reward systems, employment and labor law, labor relations, training and development, staffing, benefit administration, human resources information systems, and human resource strategy. Besides the required core courses, students choose a specialization that allows them to align their education with their goals and interests. These courses are supplemented by a broad range of elective courses that allow them to tailor their education even further. The Talent Management specialization focuses on providing you with the competencies and functional expertise needed to deliver HR solutions directly to managers and employees. The Strategic HR Leadership specialization is designed to provide you with the competencies necessary to assume advanced leadership roles within human resources; develop strategic HR initiatives; and become a global business partner. The Organizational Development specialization is designed for those who may work outside of a traditional HR role to improve organizational performance through people-related activities such as individual and organizational learning, process improvement and facilitation, team and inter-team activities, survey feedback, and organizational-wide interventions. The MSHR program is designed to meet the logistical needs of working individuals who wish to earn a graduate degree in human resources on a part-time or full-time basis. Classes are conducted in the evenings and are available all year round.
