The Foster School of Business is located in a thriving business community in Seattle, surrounded by such companies as Amazon, Microsoft, Nordstrom, and Starbucks, and many new start-ups. The Foster Full-time MBA program also prides itself in securing a high number of job placements around the country. The Foster MBA core curriculum highly focuses on strategic thinking, leadership, and global business. The program deals directly in components of competitive strategy, global strategic management, and macroeconomics, and indirectly, in the choice of cases and projects. At the beginning of the program, the career management center provides important career workshops and webinars which help students sketch out personal study plan for accomplishing their goals. With the help of academic coaches, students get to know what to expect in the program including courses, experiential learning, and career development opportunities. Students prepare to start this program through foundational courses in statistics, Finance, accounting, mathematics, and a 3-day Leadership Development course. The first year of the MBA program offers an integrated core of fundamental business concepts, skills and tools. This core integrates different modules for a solid foundation in accounting, finance, marketing, operations management, and strategy, and an understanding of how they relate to each other. The second year deals with personal career objectives. Students develop competencies in areas directly related to your post-MBA degree career while increasing your ability to handle cross-functional tasks. In addition to elective courses, students are required to complete final core classes in ethics and macroeconomics.
