The Master of Science in Project Management (MSPM) program offered at University of Southern California’s Bovard College is designed to prepare professionals to advance their careers in the field of project management. By emphasizing the strategic role that project management plays in the performance of global organizations, this program provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to be effective leaders. This program is offered completely online enabling even working professionals to build real-world experience in a flexible program geared around their tight schedule. It features three start dates per year: Fall, Spring, and Summer, and can be completed on a one-year or two-year track. The program’s curriculum has been optimized for online learning and was designed in collaboration with leading professionals. Core courses in the program help you develop the tools and knowledge you can use right away in your current job.
In addition to core PM principles, students explore the full spectrum of project management concepts and methodologies, including portfolio and program management, technical project delivery, agile, and change management. Students will learn about business relationship elements, including effective communication, negotiation, organizational culture, and conflict resolution. Essential management processes such as performance, quality, risk, cost, and budget are also examined and applied to real-world projects. Towards the end of the program, students will explore practical topics that are increasingly important to PM, including managing in a global context, ethical and principled leadership, and social responsibility. Students also get an opportunity to participate in a required Project Management Capstone course that gives them an opportunity to put into practice key concepts learned in the program to address workplace challenges and opportunities. As a MPM graduate, you’ll join an alumni network of almost 400,000 graduates around the globe.
