The University of Pennsylvania Wharton School’s MBA program teaches an intensive, flexible core in general business education plus a depth of majors and electives that ensure graduates can drive positive change in any organization across the globe. The program is instructed by a faculty who are leaders in their own fields, and who act as consultants to businesses and governments around the world. The program’s students have different experiences and business backgrounds, and learn from and act as a support system for each other. The Wharton 20-month MBA program requires six fixed core classes, along with choices in the flexible core. The flexible structure of core courses enables one to take more electives in the first year to prepare for an internship, global experience, business venture or other interests, and defer some core requirements to their second year. The core courses give you a deep understanding of key business concepts and improve your personal leadership skills and analytical concepts. You can customize your learning in the first year through flexible core courses that match your learning styles, interests, and goals. Students also participate in a summer internship after the first year though this is not a requirement. During this time students benefit from the Career Management team which offers on-campus recruiting services for summer internship. In the second year of study, you can personalize the curriculum further to cover one or more areas of expertise. You select at least nine electives, five of which are majors. One can work with a career advisor to find courses that best fit your experience and goals. MBA students have a choice to take part in dual-degree program, or choose to study abroad. The school has a team of professional advisors that offer guidance in the areas of academics, student life engagement, and career management.
