The Executive MBA offered by the Carlson School of Management at University of Minnesota features a rigorous curriculum that helps you build critical skills in strategy, finance, accounting, and leadership. You will develop a deep understanding of best practices and cutting-edge theories. The 20-month program has been designed for working professionals with at least six years of experience. The program is taught by international renowned scholars with a wealth of business experience. They impart latest knowledge to prepare students to navigate the dynamic business landscape. Classes are held Fridays and Saturdays on alternate weekends, from 7:30am to 4:30pm and do not meet during summer. The program starts with an orientation session where you are given a laptop and course materials for the semester, take an official student photo, and get all of the important information you need to start the year off. You will also meet all of your classmates in person. The day culminates in a networking happy hour with your new cohort and second year cohort of students with few alumni in attendance. In addition, a 4 to 5-day Immersion week kicks off each academic year and involves classes, workshops, and social events. The first year of the program consists of a comprehensive study of business fundamentals and tools used by successful leaders and one topical elective of your choice studied with second year students in the program. In the second year you will examine complex management challenges with a truly global focus including a 9-day study abroad experience and the Global Virtual Project which brings together students from the Carlson Global Executive MBA program in Vienna, Austria and Guangzhou, China. At the end of this program you will participate in an intense international residency that gives you hands-on experience in emerging and mature market around the world.
