The full-time MBA curriculum integrates foundational core courses with flexible, career-specific electives to develop graduates with the right skills and competencies required to successfully lead organizations. The program’s curriculum has been developed with input from corporate recruiters, alumni, faculty, staff, and career experts. It is reviewed regularly by the Buffalo SOM’s faculty to ensure it echoes current industry demands. It is designed to provide students with the quantitative and team skills that individuals and organizations need to thrive in the globally integrated world of business. In your first year, you will study a series of core courses which will lay a strong foundation to base your professional career. In the second year, you will channel the knowledge learned in the classroom into a specific career direction based on your personal interests and professional objectives. You will customize your program by choosing elective courses that allow you to broaden your perspective on management or deepen it in specific areas. As a Buffalo MBA student, you will participate in case competitions of diverse nature and variety, and which act as a vital opportunity for you to integrate your learned knowledge across many functional areas. You will leverage on your expertise and skills to propose solutions and recommendations. UB MBA students participate in LeaderCORE, a comprehensive leadership certification program that spans the entire two years of our MBA program and ensures you graduate management ready. Again, As an UB MBA student, you will travel to China for an International Business Environment course that will earn you an elective credit. You will also participate in the Corporate Champions program that lets participate in a community project as you gain real-world perspective on what you learn in the classroom.
