Mays Business School of the Texas A&M University offers the MS Human Resource Management (HRM) program as a 37-credit hour, non-thesis graduate program delivered within 16 months. The MS-HRM curriculum covers a broad range of human resource management topics to ensure students develop a deep understanding of the field. The curriculum has been designed by Mays’ Center for Human Resource Management in collaboration with corporate partners so as to prepare students adequately for the modern job market. Mays’ MS-HRM program focuses on four core skill areas: conceptual, technical, interpersonal, and communication. The program provides students with specialized HRM coursework, exposure to core components of management, and an organization’s functional areas of accounting, finance, marketing, and operations. In addition to integrating these skill areas into your coursework, the program enhances your marketability by taking you through specific courses in the core business functions. These courses comprise the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK), which are required to take if you did not complete similar courses in your undergraduate program. The program involves comprehensive orientation for new students which is held for three days the week before classes begin in the fall. The orientation helps incoming students learn more about the program structure and curriculum, as well as register for classes. Students who will be returning from their internships share the highlights of their experiences. Mays’ MS-HRM program features a professional internship which presents an opportunity for the students to apply what has been learned in the classroom as well as help them determine the HR functions of interest to them.
