The Texas A&M University’s Executive MBA program features a 45-credit rigorous curriculum that covers major business disciplines, as well as special topics such as the Capstone Project, Personal Leadership Development, and Business Communication. The program is taught by distinguished professors who continually engage students in dialogue and challenge them to bring their own experiences to the classroom. Classes meet all-day Friday and Saturday, and on alternating weekends at the Mays Business School’s private facility in Houston’s City Centre development. These Classes incorporate intellectually stimulating activities such as peer discussions, case studies and dynamic interactions with an accomplished faculty. These activities impart knowledge and skills that students can immediately use in their workplace. At the start of the program, students take part in a required residency week held at Texas A&M’s Mays Business School in College Station. During this time, students are given a head start into the program’s rigorous curriculum with sessions that cover team building skills, communication skills, the Case Method and data analysis. They also meet and get to know faculty members and fellow classmates. The program’s curriculum is divided into one- or two-day modules in order to systematically weave disciplines together. This approach allows professors to highlight the connections between finance, marketing, accounting, strategy, supply chain, communications and other business disciplines. As an Executive MBA student, you’ll be given a chance to personalize your education by participating in numerous learning opportunities outside of the classroom. One is the Washington Campus Seminar that offers an insider’s look at the federal government and policy-making in Washington, D.C. The other one is the Disaster City Experience that puts students in the hot seat during mock crisis scenarios. The last one is the Capstone Project that challenges students to use the learned knowledge to tackle a strategic concern within their own organization. The Program’s personal leadership development program delves into timely leadership topics such as ethical decision-making, thinking like a leader, influencing others and leading or participating in teams.
