Statcato

Statcato is a free and open java software application that is developed for elementary statistical computations. Statcato is ideal for instructors and college statistics students due to its tailored features that help them complete elementary statistical computation tasks. Instructors and college statistics students, who do not have a prior knowledge in using Statcato, are first offered with the two main windows.

They two main windows include Log and Datasheet. The Log window is where the outputs of computations will be displayed. The Datasheet Window contains sheet of data values whereby the user can edit and manipulate the data values using the various utilities that are provided. Statcato also features two main features that enable instructors and college statistics students perform elementary statistical computation at ease.

The first feature is the basic data operations that enables users perform sorting, ranking and standardization of data, generation of patterned data and generation of random samples such as integer, binomial, normal and uniform distribution. The probability calculations that include cumulative probability, probability density and inverse cumulative probability are all supported by the several types of distributions.

The continuous distribution contains the F test, Chi square, normal, uniform and student’s t test. The discrete distribution includes binomial, integer, geometric and Poisson. Statcato also supports instructors and college statistics students through performing of statistical computation.

The statistical computation include the descriptive statistics, normality test, sample size determination for proportion and mean, analysis of variance, correlation and regression, multinomial experiments and nonparametrics. Statcato also provides users with a calculator and utilities for designing graphs.
