The Full-Time M.B.A. program of the Southern Methodist University is an intensive two-year program designed for working professionals who want to upgrade their management education so they can advance in their various career. The full-time MBA curriculum, through a combination of core business courses and electives, gives you the flexibility to customize your learning experience in a rigorous academic environment. The program’s modular curriculum consists of eight-week courses. The first year curriculum lays emphasis on building team skills and creating a common body of knowledge that provides a solid foundation for elective courses in the second year. Classes are offered during the day and evenings, from Monday to Thursday, where Fridays are set aside for students to participate in various required activities to enhance professional development. All MBA students are required to have an internship during the summer semester which helps them to determine the elective courses to take during the second year of the MBA program. The Cox Full-Time MBA Program offers students the ability to customize their curriculum with 38 credit hours of electives (19 elective courses). Students will be given the opportunity to declare up to two concentrations and/or minors each semester in the program. Students can select from the following concentrations and minors: Accounting, Business Analytics, Information & Operations, Management, Marketing, Real Estate, and Strategy & Entrepreneurship. Each MBA concentration consists of a set of core business courses and additional concentration-specific components. In addition, you may choose to participate in a MBA international exchange program with one of our partner schools in Asia, Australia, Europe, or Latin America.
