RunaWFE represents a free OpenSource business process management system. It uses its own solutions and some ideas of the JBoss jBPM and Activiti projects. It has several features: convenient user web-interface; graphical business process designer; bots for automatic task execution; flexible system of role executors determination; simple integration with relational data bases; web services support; portlets support; Alfresco integration; security system, which allows LDAP/MS Active Directory integration; heterogeneous enterprise applications integration is possible; localization on Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian; support of Windows, Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD operational systems. It is a cross-platform end user solution for business process management and it provides rich web interface with tasklist, form player, Developer Studio, automatic bots and more.
When it comes to installing the system users server machine must have RAM 1Gb, free HDD space 2Gb, OS – MS Windows XP or higher, Linux Debian 7.0 or higher, Fedore 19 or higher, AltLinux 7.0 or higher, Sun Solaris 10. The list of components that can be installed from specialize distributives can be divided in two categories: client side components (client web interface, developer studio, business process simulator and task notifier) and server side components (WFE server and bot station).
Thanks to RunaWFE web interface users can receive filter, perform the tasks of business process instances, start new business process instances, view the properties of started business process instances, deploy new business process definitions (if permission is granted) and administrators can: create /remove actors and groups, include /exclude actors to/from groups, grant permissions on system objects to actors and groups, forcibly stop business process instances, add/change actors substitutions rules.
