FarmConnect is Rubicon Water's suite of products and solutions for farmers. Its modular hardware and software components are designed to work together to enable the application of water to crops using high-flow, high-performance surface irrigation. FarmConnect software uses Google™ satellite mapping and GPS positioning to graphically display the farm, showing the status of all field devices at a glance – making it easy to schedule, control and automate irrigation from your computer. By combining the latest in internet technology and cellular network communications with Rubicon’s robust field equipment, FarmConnect software gives users more control than ever. With data recorded every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day and powerful graphing tools, FarmConnect software gives a true insight into crop water use, so users can precisely time irrigations to maximize the productivity of water. Devices such as Rubicon’s BladeValve (for pipe and riser systems) or BayDrive bay gate actuators (for open channel systems) can be operated remotely and automatically using FarmConnect software. Irrigation also demands robust, reliable 24x7 operation, with alarm escalation and notification by phone and SMS or internet. Having 24 hour Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and web access helps farmers in their interaction with the district when and where they need it. In-field tools like mobile internet to manage water deliveries and smartphone apps for meter reading are also essential for efficient management. FarmConnect is a Cloud-based software which enables the system to be managed from computer and smartphones. The smart meter provides real-time flow information to the FarmConnect software so users can calculate the precise flow rate and volume of water applied to each bay and review irrigation performance.
