Palantir Bigdata builds data fusion platforms for integrating, managing, and securing any kind of data, at massive scale. On top of these platforms, Palantir Bigdata layer applications for fully interactive, human-driven, machine-assisted analysis. Palantir Bigdata offers 2 platforms that an enterprise can choose from, the Palantir Gotham and Palantir Metropolis.Palantir Bigdata’s Gotham integrates, manages, secures, and analyzes all of the company’s enterprise data. Palantir Gotham platform comprises a suite of capabilities for integrating many different data sources for secure, collaborative analysis. The platform serves as an enterprise knowledgebase, containing the full record of an organization's collective analysis. Instead of rigid rows and columns, Palantir Gotham models data as a flexibly specified graph of objects and relationships, real-world entities like "people" and "organizations," their relevant features, and the connections between them.Privacy-protective capabilities are built into the platform's very architecture, which is designed to support precision data handling, multi-level security, and complete audit ability. Users can be assigned a variety of access permissions that govern their ability to interact with this data. Finally, all user and administrator interaction with data is recorded in a tamper-proof audit log. Palantir Bigdata’s Metropolis platform, on the other hand, fuses data from multiple sources into a unified representation called a model. The platform includes a library of pre-built adapters, frameworks, and APIs that allow it to easily integrate data from disparate source systems for analysis. Models from the Metropolis platform are the translation of the rows and columns of source datasets, including descriptive metadata, into a unified conceptual object that represents an entity in the world.
