The NCAR Command Language is an open and free language configured uniquely for visualization and data processing. The graphics of the NCAR Command Language are highly customizable and comes in a binary or source code format. The NCAR Command Language features useful command line tools for the user to be able to get the processed data. The first software is the ncl_filedump that prints the content of supported files such as CCM History Tape. The second software is the ncl_convert2nc and the third software is the WRAPIT that allows users to wrap Fortran applications. The NCAR Command Language graphics run on UNIX-based operating systems. NCAAR Command Language enables users to run their data in a friendly mode whereby each line of the data is explained as it enters the users’ workstation. The user also is given the ability to run the data in a mode type of batch as the interpreter off complete scripts. NCAR Command Language enables users to use the options of the command by setting up the variables or options on the NCL command line. The command language used by NCAR Command language comes in three main components with different power and utilities. They include; visualization, file input and output and data analysis. The features of NCAR Command Language are commonly used to modern programming languages. Some of the features include; conditional statements, operators, variables and expressions. There are other features that NCL possess that are not found in other programming languages. Some of them are features that handle the configuration of visualization and manipulation of metadata. NCAR Command Language also features more than 500 functions and procedures that are in-built.
