Microsoft Money is beautifully designed personal finance management software which enables users to take control of their finances. It allows users to view bank account balances, create budgets, and track expenses, among other things.
Microsoft Money is available on computers and on mobile phones. Its features include online bill payment, online investment quotes, automatic statement downloads, import data files, currency converter, and mortgage calculator. It was designed for computers using the Microsoft Windows operating system, and versions for Windows Mobile are also available (available for Money 2000-2006 on select versions of Windows Mobile, up to, but not including, Windows Mobile 5.0).
Microsoft Money comes in two retail versions: Deluxe, and Home & Business. Microsoft Money helps users to track worldwide stocks and money news. Microsoft Money retail versions require online activation; however a downloadable version of Microsoft Money is available known as the Money Plus Sunset which does not require online activation or the installation of any previous version of Money on the user's computer. Nonetheless, Money Plus Sunset is missing some of the functionalities that are available in the retail versions of Microsoft Money.
The functionalities missing are: automatic statement downloads initiated by Money (though users may import downloadable OFX and QIF statements from one's financial institution into the user's Money file), online bill payments, and online investment quotes (though one can "go to the Portfolio Manager and Update Prices – Update Prices Manually"), and Money Plus Sunset cannot import data files from non-US editions of Microsoft Money. However, a few third party add-ons have been created to challenge the online limitations of the sunset edition: MSMoney Quotes, a for-pay tool to update quotes; and PocketSense, a free tool to download bank account statements (via OFX) and quotes.
It analyzes and organizes your income and expenses into a healthy, rational budget.
