Jimdo is a website building and hosting service that enables users to create and host a variety of different types of websites, including blogs and online stores. Jimdo offers three subscriptions—JimdoFree, JimdoPro, and JimdoBusiness—with a graduating set of features for each subscription.

All versions of Jimdo include integration tools for social media sites and services like Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest. Jimdo works well with mobile devices like iPhone and Android smartphones. Jimdo automatically reformats your site in real time for these smaller device displays, so visitors using them will always have a good experience with your site. All sites are encrypted with an SSL certificate, a huge plus especially for e-commerce outlets.

SSL certificate encrypts all information being sent to and from the website, a necessity if users plan on collecting anything personal. It gives users peace of mind, but also helps Google rankings as many search engines and web browsers are warning users who land on non-secure sites.

Jimdo allows users to create contact forms on the website directly within the editor. A certificate will encrypt things like names and email addresses in addition to credit card numbers, meaning users are protected from any information theft while that data is in transit.

Jimdo is ideal for small to medium-sized businesses, as its e-commerce platform is more than adequate to do a really good job. Overall, Jimdo is very user-friendly and it takes only a few minutes to figure out how to add elements in Jimdo, so the learning curve is not steep. Adding, subtracting and editing elements are a breeze.
