GLPI is an application software that acts as Information resource manager to help administrators in their work. It builds a database of inventory in your company and assists administrators in job tracking and mail notification. Its main key features are its ability to maintain the specifics of each inventory in all technical resources and their features. The application also manages the users functions and requests as well as maintain actions and bound procedures. GLPI has many other features.

It has the ability to manage multi-parks and multi-structures. GLPI manages the many users of the application. It can work with multiple servers and multiple authentication systems. GLPI can be configured into 45 different languages. The system has the ability to configure fields, drop downs, personal reminders and feeds. Reports can be produced in different formats like PDF, Excel, XML, and CSV, SQL among others.

GLPI helps administrators in notification of important events such as renewal of licenses, expiry of contracts, and replenishment of inventory among others. GLPI is helpful in inventory management, especially computer hardware’s, printers, scanners, graphical tables, software fleet with their licensing and expiry date.

GLPI has the functionality of Service helpdesk which helps in tracking and managing requests by use of web interface and email. Opening of tickets and SLA with escalation can be customized by entity.

GLPI also ensures that the end user benefits from the software through satisfaction survey. IT technicians are enabled by GLPI to manage interventions, tracking intervention demands, validating requests, checking availability of technicians, posting management of problems history and defining solutions.

Statistical statistics can be produced by category, period, user, technician or priority. Knowledge of database is also possible with GLPI through management of public FAQ. Technologies used by GLPI include PHP, MySQL and HTML and XML report generation.
