FreeMind is a free mind mapping software which gives users the flexibility to organize thoughts on a page as they connect to each other and to the larger picture and also lets users edit Mind maps, XML/HTML documents, and directory trees.
FreeMind offers features, including scads of icons and color formatting options to help users visually organize concepts, provides support hyperlinks, which allow users to link Web sites and even documents to a map and users will be able to export their landscape of thoughts in a variety of formats, including HTML, PDF, and JPEG.
FreeMind lets users keeping track of projects, including subtasks, state of subtasks and time recording. FreeMind provides a project workplace, including links to necessary files, executables, source of information and information and a workplace for internet research using Google. FreeMind also lets users keep a collection of small or middle sized notes with links on some area which expands as needed.
FreeMind also lets users write essay and do brainstorming, using colors to show which essays are open, completed or not yet started using size of nodes to indicate size of essays. FreeMind lets users keep a small database of something with structure that is either very dynamic or not known in advance such as different medical records which use different structure and where users do not have to analyze all the possible structures before they enter the first medical record. FreeMind also lets users comment on internet favorites or bookmarks, with colors and fonts having the meaning which the users want.
