The program prepares a graduate to be a human resource leader in an increasingly diverse and international workplace. Through this program, students learn how to develop a strategic staffing vision, shape corporate culture, and empower organizational change. The degree is earned in 12 months of accelerated learning that features full-time study including Saturday classes. The MS HRM program features a curriculum developed and taught by top human resource industry executives as well as intensive preparation for human resource professional certification exams. The program lays emphasis on practical applications of theory learned in class through experiential exercises, case studies, and also through other engaging and active forms of applied learning. The MS HRM curriculum reflects the latest global HR approaches and is designed to strengthen a graduate’s success at any organization by helping them learn to: align HR strategy to an organization’s dynamic business strategy; develop human resource policies and practices that add value and enhance a firm’s competitive advantage; plan for organizational change in response to shifting business conditions; address the unique cultural and other considerations encountered when managing a workforce in multinational organizations; and finally, strengthen their professional capabilities, including presentation skills, writing, and computing. In addition, students in the program get access to networking opportunities with valuable contacts, which include fellow students who are experienced HR professionals; active alumni; and the program's advisory board of prominent, multinational HR executives. The program is overseen by an experienced faculty of many well-known scholars in the discipline and members of editorial boards of the most popular HR journals. Students interested in obtaining an MBA are allowed to partake a joint-degree program.
