The Florida Institute of Technology’s Master's in project management is designed for professionals from diverse backgrounds seeking to obtain advanced leadership positions in either private or public organizations. The program helps develop skills and competencies in project management and in identified concentration areas such as operations research, information systems, or other areas of interest selected by the student. Because project management has become a business strategy of choice, graduates are empowered to become dynamic and effective project managers, who are ready to assume the responsibility for improving business performance. The program is instructed by professors who possess doctorate degrees in management, information systems or related fields, with many certified as Project Management Professionals through the Project Management Institute. Students of the program can complete the degree at one of the University’s Extended Studies off-campus sites, or online through the Virtual Site. The Extended Studies off-campus programs provide a high level of flexibility to working professionals, who can complete the degree program within two years.

The program’s curriculum covers topics relevant to today's competitive marketplace including statistics, cost and economic analysis and five core project management study areas. In addition to coursework, lectures, class discussions, workshops and guest speakers help students develop mastery of the program's curriculum. During your final year of study, you’ll have an opportunity to obtain hands-on, practical experience through working with organizations needing project management expertise. The capstone experience will involve working on a complex, real-life project management challenge in a team-based environment. This will enable you to master key project management competencies. Graduates of the program have endless career opportunities in public, private and military organizations, all which are in constant need of the expertise of project managers.
