Some of these techniques are mass deduplication which helps users to find all duplicates in Salesforce database so when results are clear, records can be merged; fuzzy matching – duplicates errors can appear from spelling errors, different formatting etc so using this technique duplicates can be found through “fuzzy” comparison methods; standard matching for finding duplicates using comparison method; search; cross object allows finding duplicates between different objects. Duplicate prevention prevents the creation of new duplications.

This prevention has several features such as duplicate check - lay-outs are extended with a button after installing it so by clicking this button search for duplicates can start so when it completes, results are shown in a result list so users can merge or convert the records; duplicate prevention – after creating or updating a record, search for duplicates will start and when found, user is prohibited from saving the record; duplicate live check; direct processing etc.

Database can be cleaned using lead convert so when users are converting leads to accounts, contacts and opportunities, online check for possible duplicates is done before converting; schedule which offers scheduling deduplication batch to run every day, week or month or night in order to have a report ready in the morning; merge allows merging up to three records at the same time, auto merge saves time because it merges duplicate records without any user intervention etc.
