The DePaul University’s Master of Science (MS) in Human Resources degree program teaches students fundamental skills needed to manage the modern organizational workforce. The program helps students develop the skills to manage core HR functions, including workforce planning, staffing, performance management, total rewards, talent management, and training and development. Students in this program gain a real-world education in HR management delivered by a faculty leading scholars in the field that combine high-quality teaching with evidence-based recommendations. To complete the MS in Human Resources degree, you are required to take 12 courses across three groups which feature 5 core Human Resource courses, 4 Human Resource electives, and 3 Business electives. These courses are taught by faculty members who have won numerous teaching awards, and who bring many years of professional experience in a range of management-related fields into the classroom. The MS in HR Advisory Board, comprised of HR professionals and graduates of DePaul, provides another point of contact for the program and its students in the industry. The MS in Human Resources curriculum is aligned with the Society for Human Resource Management's (SHRM) HR curriculum guidebook and templates. The guidelines are part of SHRM's academic initiative to define and maintain high HR education standards for programs taught in university business schools. The program leverages DePaul's wide-ranging network of alumni and HR business leaders to create opportunities for students to engage in professional activities and community outreach via service learning. In addition, industry guest speakers, business cases, simulations and internships will enhance your practical understanding of the HR field.
