Dap is a graphic and static software that performs analysis, data management and graphical visualization tasks that are required in statistical consulting practice. Dap is able to read SBS programs therefor enabling users who wish to perform basic statistical analyses not to learn and use C Syntax for the straightforward tasks.

The original implementation enables users to retain access to the C-style graphics and statistics features provided by Dap. Dap’s C-style features are easy and quickly to be used by users as they provide manual and examples that are detailed. Dap also contains advanced features of C.

Dap uses a one line at a time mechanism when processing files therefore providing a software that can be used on data sets that have many lines and many variables. Users are also able to run directly programs written on other systems such as GNU and Linux.

Dap has features that enable environment variables to be written on it. The DAPEDITOR provides a path name for Emacs while the DAPEDOPTS provides users with options for the Emacs front-end. Users can also view tabular output from Dap through DAPPAGER. Users performing data management have the ability to compile programs to run under Dap by using the DAPCOMPILER. Graphical visualization users are also able to perform their tasks as Dap provides a good platform for them to view graphical output using the DAPVIEWER.

The DAPCOMPOPTS featured by Dap provides user with options for that compiler used when compiling programs to run under Dap. Dap also provide users with the ability to send bug reports and comments they experience while using Dap.
