Multi-Value Databases

Multi-Value Database is a system that stores information by incorporating the features of NoSQL and multidimensional databases. Multi-value database models are similar to the relational models in that they both store data in tables and have schemas. Multi-value database modes, however, use less rigid schema. Databases are used by organizations for storing and managing information every day. The relational database models are not very effective at processing complex data, hence the need for a database that can process this information. Multi-value database models are excellent choices for processing complex data, as they simplify applications by discarding the rule that database systems must store repeating data in different databases. A multi-value database is a type of multidimensional and NoSQL database that encourages the use of attributes that can take a value list. Some common features that a good multi-value database should have include integration, more than one value to an attribute, flexibility, transactions, and advanced security protocols. Using these database models, organizations can save memory, disk space, and processing time. They also help in rapid database development and design, as well as handling complex data structures.
