PrestaShop is a free e-commerce software published under the Open Software License (OSL). With support for the MySQL database management system, its language is written in the PHP programming language. It is an open-source organization. PrestaShop generates great and fast revenues as per user’s needs and keeping the time factor in focus. It leverages the size and international scope of its open-source community.
PrestaShop has established two main sources of revenue: PrestaShop Addons, a marketplace through which merchants purchase custom addons and themes for their stores. This software also comes fully equipped with strategic partnerships with e-commerce industry leaders such as Google and Google. PrestaShop accommodates more than three hundred built-in features for managing website aspects such as shipping, product listing, payments, manufacturers and suppliers etc.
PrestaShop makes use of a web template system that allows users to customize the store themes and add new features of their own by making use of high-add-on modules. The PrestaShop Addons marketplace also provides a platform for third-party developers to sell their self-constructed themes and modules to merchants.
A basic yet comprehensible theme is present in PrestaShop by default. Using the multiple options and features, users can easily install or develop their own themes which change the display of the website without altering its content or adding or eliminating other preset features. Add-on modules extend the software’s built-in functionalities.
Users may install modules directly within the software administration panel or develop their own, using some of the features already present in the website’s layout. The remainder of the website tools are also simple and do not require any specific skills to navigate through them.
